Description

Advanced Hinged ROM Knee Brace for Enhanced Stability

The hinged ROM knee brace provides robust immobilization, supporting your knee by limiting its range of motion during recovery. Designed for those who need to restrict knee movement to heal properly, this brace is an essential tool in both post-operative recovery and rehabilitation from knee injuries.

Precise Motion Control Settings

This knee brace features dual plastic stops within the adjustment dial, allowing you to control the range of motion with precision. The hinge settings can be adjusted in 10-degree increments, offering a flexion range of -10 to 120 degrees and an extension range of -10 to 30 degrees. This fine control helps you customize the brace’s settings to match your specific rehabilitation requirements, ensuring optimal healing conditions.

Comfortable and Effective Support Pads

Equipped with specially designed pads, the knee stabilizer ensures excellent grip and suspension, making it comfortable while providing the necessary support. These pads help in maintaining the brace in its proper position without slipping, thereby enhancing the effectiveness of the stabilization.

Adjustable Fit for Personalized Comfort

The brace includes hook and loop straps that easily adjust to fit the girth of your thigh (up to 29.9 inches) and calf (up to 16 inches). This adjustability ensures that the brace fits snugly around your leg, providing comfort without sacrificing stability or support.

Customizable Brace Length

Featuring push-button struts, the knee brace’s length can be adjusted from 18 inches to a maximum of 27.5 inches, catering to individual needs and preferences for a comfortable fit. This feature allows the brace to accommodate different leg lengths, ensuring that users of all sizes can find a comfortable and effective fit.

Importance of Maintaining Joint Mobility

While immobilization is crucial for the healing process, maintaining some degree of joint mobility is also important to prevent stiffness and promote better circulation within the joint area. The adjustable settings of the ROM knee brace allow for controlled movement, which is essential in the later stages of recovery. Gradually increasing the range of motion as per medical advice helps in restoring knee functionality more effectively, reducing recovery time and improving outcomes. This approach ensures that once the brace is no longer needed, the knee can return to normal activity with greater ease and less discomfort.

Care and Maintenance

Routine Cleaning and Care for Durability

To keep your item in top shape, it’s important to clean it regularly. Simply wipe it down with a damp cloth and a bit of mild soap. Handwashing in this manner helps preserve the integrity of the material and ensures it stays functional and looking good.

Proper Drying Techniques

After washing, use a clean towel to gently pat down the item, absorbing most of the moisture. Then, let it air dry at room temperature. This method helps maintain the shape and quality of the item without exposing it to excessive heat, which can be damaging.

Avoiding Heat and Direct Sunlight

It’s crucial not to hang the item up or place it near heat sources like stoves, heaters, or radiators, and avoid direct sunlight. These conditions can degrade the material over time, leading to wear and tear that could compromise its effectiveness and appearance.

Steering Clear of Harsh Chemicals

Keep the item away from alcohol, ointments, and solvents. These substances can break down the materials used in your item, shortening its lifespan and diminishing its performance.

The Importance of Regular Maintenance

Regular maintenance is key not only to keep the item functioning but also to extend its lifespan. By taking care of it properly, you avoid the buildup of dirt and oils that can wear down the materials. Additionally, routine checks and cleaning can help you spot any potential issues before they become serious problems, ensuring that the item continues to serve its purpose effectively.

How to Use

Opening the Brace

Start by lifting the fastening clips on one side of the brace. Then, on the opposite side, unbuckle the straps to begin opening the brace. This setup allows for easier access to the internal components and prepares the brace for adjustment around your knee.

Positioning the Brace Properly

Separate the hinge bars and place the brace around your knee, ensuring the knee is centrally positioned between the hinges. Check that the hinges point in the correct direction as indicated, with the smaller calf pads facing towards your feet. This alignment is crucial for the brace to function correctly and provide the needed support.

Securing the Initial Straps

Fasten the buckles on the two straps that are closest to your knee. At this stage, do not pull the straps too tight; they just need to be secure enough to hold the brace in place without restricting circulation or comfort.

Adjusting for Perfect Fit

To adjust the brace to fit your leg perfectly, loosen the friction clips found on the side struts. Slide the upper and lower telescopic hinge bars up or down as needed to suit the length of your leg. Once you’ve found the ideal position, close the friction clips to lock the hinge bars in place. You can double-check the length adjustment by looking at the indicators on the hinge bars.

Securing the Remaining Straps

Attach the buckles on the remaining two straps, again ensuring not to tighten them just yet. These should be fastened to a comfortable level, ready for final adjustments.

Tightening for Optimal Support

Now, tighten the straps by pulling on them until there is no gap behind the leg. While doing this, be careful to keep the hinge bars aligned correctly on both the lateral (outer) and medial (inner) sides of the leg to avoid any discomfort or misplacement of the brace.

Locking Everything in Place

Once all straps are snug and the brace feels secure, close the fastening clips to lock everything in place. This prevents the straps from loosening as you move.

Final Strap Adjustments

Pull the straps through the buckles to tighten them as needed. Ensure you maintain the proper position of the hinge bars during this step to ensure the brace remains effective in stabilizing your knee.

Adjusting Strap Length

If the straps are too long and need adjustment, use the Y-tongues at the ends of each strap. You can remove the Y-tongue to cut the strap to the required length, then reattach the Y-tongue to secure the new strap length. This ensures that the brace fits perfectly without excess material, providing a clean, tailored look and feel.
